Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22. Worldwide, various events are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First celebrated in 1970, Earth Day events in more than 193 countries are now coordinated globally. Numerous communities celebrate Earth Week, an entire week of activities focused on the environmental issues that the world faces.
In the Philippines, the Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC) is the department that is in charge to transform the river and its environs into a showcase of a new quality of urban life headed by its Executive Director Pepeton Ejercito Goitia. More activities have been done for the past years to make sure that with their initiatives, the glory of Pasig River will be brought back.
